The philosophy hasn’t changed, even going back to Nebuchadnezzar. One of the Enemy’s primary strategies has always been to shape the youth’s minds so they never have their minds on the true God, and this brainwashing process, I believe, has become stronger with age.
It’s quite prevalent in our culture, and it can be all too easy to immerse your mind in gratuitous sex and violence or not challenge yourself intellectually. You won’t have the character to stand up to crisis in the end if you soak your mind in glamorized immorality.
Satan’s kingdom’s entire goal is to shape the minds of men and women so that the spiritual longings of their human hearts are repressed and so that the carnal nature of human beings becomes the strongest nature that governs and guides their behavior.
“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.”2nd Corinthians 3:18 | KJV
Behold and Become Changed
By contemplating His teachings and sufferings, and the infinite sacrifice made by Him for the redemption of the race, we may strengthen our faith, quicken our love, and become more deeply imbued with the spirit which sustained our Saviour. Jesus Christ, who suffered humiliation to save us from everlasting disgrace.
He consented to have scorn, mockery, and abuse fall upon Him to shield us. It was our transgression that gathered the veil of darkness about His divine soul and extorted the cry from Him, as of one smitten and forsaken of God.
He bore our sorrows; He was put to grief for our sins. He made Himself an offering for sin in that we might be justified before God through Him.
The Principal Matter
Everything noble and generous in man will respond to the contemplation of Christ upon the cross, and by beholding, we become changed.
It’s in that eternal principle that says, “our minds become like that which we think about the most,” and if you lose the battle for your mind, you lose the battle for your soul.
